Happy Mother's Day Gamie!

My mom has been my biggest cheerleader, role model and best friend my entire life. She is the reason I am the person I am today. If you know my mom, you know her love for children runs deep.  I am surprised that she did not have a baseball team of children, but she stopped at one, because why keep trying when you have the perfect child! (hehehe) As you know, Vin and I dated for seven years and he popped the question in 2010. Ever since this time, and maybe a couple years prior as well, my mom has been asking us for grandchildren.

On Mother's Day, Vin and I had decided it was time to share the news with my mom. After all, there is no possible way I could keep a secret like this from my mom. I had doctor visits to go to andI was feeling more exhausted then ever. She is my mom, she would know something was up.

I brainstormed ideas on how to share the news with my mom. What better way to collaborate the plan then with CUPCAKES! I made a board with numbers inside of circles and places the corresponding number on the bottom of the cupcakes. When my mom placed the cupcake on the board, in the end it would spell out "You are going to be a Gamie".

I told my mom that I needed her help with an upcoming order. I gave her the instructions and she gladly started picking up the cupcakes and placing them on the board. Once half of the board was filled out and she picked up on the word "Gamie" she realized what was going on. She immediately began screaming "NO SIR" "NO SIR" "OMG"!!

...and my mom finally is going to be a grandmother.

What is even more special about this story is when I have told my lifelong friends, the FIRST thing they ask is what my mom said when we told her. They just know how long she has been waiting for this day.

We love you Mom.
